How children end up has a lot to do with where they start.

Family Time at the Y

We’re committed to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities through a variety of family-oriented programs. Our programs and resources are available to provide you with the tools needed for positive parenting and relationships.

The Lionville Community YMCA has programs for everyone in the family, infants through seniors. We offer babysitting services for active parents who want to stay healthy and fit for the most important task of all: raising children. We offer parent-child classes and programs. We set aside time for family swims.

We encourage parent involvement in competitive team leadership and volunteer leadership in policy formulation.

In addition to a broad array of programs for adults, we offer specialty classes and numerous competitive team programs for children. Most classes are scheduled in ten-week sessions throughout the year. Highlights of our family programs include:

YMCA Adventure Guides
YMCA Adventure Guides is a parent/child program designed to help parent-child pairs build strong, lasting relationships. Small group meetings are held once a month and several larger events are held through the school year. Activities include camping, canoeing, bowling, skating, ball games swimming and more. YMCA Adventure Guides is also one of the YMCA's strongest volunteer-development programs.

Family Fitness
The Lionville Community YMCA offers many opportunities for families to be active and fit. Parent-child classes in gymnastics and aquatics for children four-years old and younger enable parents and their children to benefit from movement exploration, body awareness, gross motor coordination, hand-eye coordination and a variety of other important building blocks to healthy physical, intellectual and social development. Family members age 13 and up can work out together in our free fitness classes and state-of-the-art Fitness Center. Families can also take advantage of indoor and outdoor pools for recreation swims and aquatic activities.
