Tony Coppola of Wayne, Nadine Hoepfl of Phoenixville, and Bob Campbell of Eagle were the first Y members of the season to take the plunge into the 50-meter, outdoor pool when it opened on Friday, May 13.

Getting into the Swim of Things: Kicking off the Summer Season at UMLY

BERWYN, PA – The Upper Main Line YMCA kicked off the summer swim season with the opening of its 50-meter outdoor pool on Friday, May 13th. A pre-summer ritual at UMLY, the opening of the pool signifies the start of the Y’s busiest season.

Located on Berwyn-Paoli Road in Berwyn, the Upper Main Line YMCA offers plenty of options for filling the lazy days of summer on its 54-acre campus. In addition to the 50-meter, three other outdoor pools include a preschool pool with frog slide and family pool with tube slide are slated to open Memorial Day weekend.

The Y has activities for all ages including summer camp, a skate park, 24 outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, and an onsite Environment Education Center.

With branches at each end of the Conestoga Trail, the YMCA of the Upper Main Line has been serving the community with programs and services to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities since 1962.
