Traditionally known as places to learn how to do the breast stroke or make a jump shot, YMCAs are rapidly becoming the places where kids and adults learn to paint, write, sing, dance or act.

Arts and Humanities

Through self-expression, group work, and articulation of concerns, uncertainties and fears, the arts are a critical vehicle for accessing, enhancing and practicing the best and strongest values and parts of our selves.

The Upper Main Line YMCA offers enrichment programs that help students develop better better writing skills, ham it up in a theater class or express themselves through crafts, movement or drawing and painting.

 

Nature/Environmental Studies

We build more than muscle at UMLY. Our Nature/Environmental programs offer something for all ages. Preschool aged children are introduced to nature through hikes on our 54-acre property, teens participate Earth Service Corps and adults join us to learn about conserving the local flora and fauna.

Dance

Our Dance program offers instruction for boys and girls, ages 2 through adult, beginners through advanced. Be assured that you and your child will receive a quality dance education through our trained and competent staff, our brand new large dance studio and our family YMCA values.

Our 9 month curriculum encourages progression of skills and provides consistent instruction at each level.
