Lifeguarding 
The Upper Main Line YMCA offers certification courses for YMCA and American Red Cross Lifeguarding and recertification courses for Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Oxygen Administration and First Aid.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding: Includes certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Oxygen and First Aid. Prerequisites include: minimum age 15, ability to swim front, back and breast stroke 300 yards and retrieve a brick from 10 feet of water. Other minimum swimming requirements do apply.
YMCA Lifeguarding: Includes certification in Lifeguarding for pools, water parks and water fronts. Prerequisites include: Certification in CPR/AED, Oxygen Administration and First Aid, ability to swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and elementary backstroke 100 yards each, minimum age 16. Other minimum swimming requirements do apply.
