The YMCA of the Upper Main Line is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members, participants, guests, visiting teams/coaches/parents, vendors, or others. To promote safety and comfort for all, we ask individuals to act appropriately at all times when they are in our facility, participating in our programs or on our property.
We expect persons using the YMCA to comply with all facility policies and to use the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty and Respect and Responsibility in their conduct and relationships with others. Our Code of Conduct does not permit language or any action that can hurt or frighten another person, or that falls below a generally accepted standard of conduct.
This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. Senior management and the Membership and Program Committee will conduct a thorough investigation of all reported incidents. Suspension or termination of YMCA membership and use privileges may result if a violation of the YMCA Code of Conduct has occurred.
Members and guests are encouraged to be responsible for their personal comfort and safety, and to ask any person whose behavior threatens their safety or comfort to refrain from such conduct. Parents or guardians are responsible for the behavior of their minor children. If a member or guest feels uncomfortable in confronting a person directly, the member should report the behavior to a staff person or the senior director on duty. Reports of inappropriate conduct should be made as soon as possible. YMCA staff members are eager to be of assistance. Members and guests should not hesitate to notify a staff member if assistance is needed.
In order to be able to carry out these policies, members and guests are required to produce a membership card or identification upon request of YMCA staff member.
Questions regarding our Code of Conduct should be directed to the Branch Membership Director and Membership & Program Committee.
